These Indian food recipes are shared by 2 of my subscribers. Deepali Jeste, an NRI from USA shared the Paneer Lababdar recipe. Her recipes is beautifully explained and after having tried it multiple times, I have to say its foolproof! If you are looking to satiate a restaurant style paneer craving, at home then this is the recipe for you. Try it and enjoy it and trust me on this that its going to be absolutely worth it. Luscious creamy gravy with an amalgamation of spices to give it that hot aftertaste – this is a recipe for keeps. You can follow Deepali Jeste on her Youtube to check out more of her recipes.

The other recipe, Pav Bhaji made without Amul Butter! For so many of us, Pav Bhaji and Amul Butter are synonymous. But Priya Sane shares her secret hack to making a creamy delicious Pav Bhaji without using Amul Butter! Switch it up with homemade butter and enjoy the flavor of vegetables and not just an overpowering buttery taste. I tried this hack and trust me, the bhaji was lovely. You can follow Priya on her Youtube to check out more hacks and recipes from her.

Delhi Highway Thali – One of the best in Mumbai

Delhi Highway Thali
The Delhi Highway Thali is easily on of the best vegetarian thalis in Mumbai

I had a chance to try it, for the second time and of course I filmed it. You can watch the Delhi Highway Thali video here.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel here

Delhi Highway provides a massive Indian thali experience that includes Chaat and an expansive thali. This is unlimited and is honestly a feast for anyone wanting to try it. The one thing that I’d like to mention is the consistency they have maintained in quality. I filmed this place around 2 years ago, and then and now my experience has been spectacular. You can watch that video too!

The Delhi Highway thali begins with a welcome drink, followed by chaat. This is unlimited and that is what the good part is about this restaurant.

Delhi Highway Thali

The thali itself is huge – subzis, rotis, biryani, dessert. MASSIVE VARIETY!

Delhi Highway Thali

What works for me in this restaurant is how tasty the food is here. Variety is great, but it  means nothing if theres no taste. And for me this place wins that war very smoothly. And of course, who doesn’t love variety! This place fulfills that craving for a full North Indian meal very beautifully. I would definitely visit this place again to indulge in their food and the overall experience.

Ishaara Restaurant – special Indian meal experience in Mumbai

Ishaara restaurant in Mumbai offers a unique dining experience.

At Ishaara restaurant, not only can you enjoy delicious Indian food, but also have the pleasure of interacting with a team of bright differently abled people. Watch this video from my visit to Ishaara.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel here

The dining experience at Ishaara is nothing short of ordinary. A modern casual ambience filled with the aroma of delicious Indian food is what one experiences here. A stylish bar area, followed by a chaat section and a semi-open kitchen – the place is honestly beautiful. And the kindness of the staff just adds to it all. All the serving staff here is differently abled. But they bring that genuine smile, the happiness of feeding you and a warm welcoming vibe that makes the place worth a visit. And along with all of this, their food shines through. It’s like a breath of fresh air in a space filled with way too experimental Indian cuisine and molecular gastronomy!

I tried a whole bunch of dishes at Ishaara but I tried to stick to a few basics too. Their Dal Haveli was a black dal, laden with ghee and so flavorful. The Nehru Place Paneer was a luscious buttery gravy with a massive chunk of paneer. Even the starters were amazing. The one that I loved the most was Tandoori Broccoli. Another thing I particularly liked about Ishaara is that they bring street food from many Indian cities to the table. We’re used to seeing stuff from Mumbai and Delhi, but seeing Butte ki Khees from Indore in a mainstream menu is quite cool! Another highlight from my visit to Ishaara was the dessert – I tried the flourless chocolate brownie and it was out of this world. A gooey, moist, almost ganache of sorts with delicious dark chocolate.

Ishaara is one restaurant that needs to be on your visit list. It will leave you feeling pleasantly satiated for sure!

Ranchi Food & Restaurants – must try places

ranchi food
Ranchi food and restaurants that are so highly recommended that I had to try them!

In this video, I’m exploring Ranchi food places that are legendary for the city and its locals.

This is Kaveri restaurant from Ranchi. It probably the most famous, the most reviewed and the most visited restaurant in Ranchi. When I asked around for recommendations, Kaveri was mentioned to me by all people as a must visit. When I visited Kaveri, I decided to try a thali. I feel that a thali meal is a great way to try multiple dishes in a restaurant and honestly I did quite enjoy it. The Dahi Wada stood out – its a must try stand alone dish! When I posted my video about Kaveri on Youtube, I got a lot of recommendations to try the paneer chilli here and hopefully if I go back I will try it!

As they say old is gold, and the food, especially the Raj Kachori here at Punjab Sweet House in Ranchi was pure gold. Filled with yoghurt, chutneys, boondi, carrots, beetroot – tasted like a dream! Also, this is one of the oldest eating places in Ranchi. Simple food is something you can expect here and they actually have a lot of street food served North Indian Style. One thing that I do want to try out here next time is the Chowmein. I saw it on every table and it looked delicious!

Dosa Plaza, has its branches all over India and I happened to try it for the first time in Ranchi. And boss, was I in for a surprise! You can’t even imagine the kind of dosa names and ingredients on their menu. I tried the Mexican Roll Dosa, there was nothing Mexican about it! And I also tried their Idli Manchurian and that tasted delicious. So if you love fusion food, then this place is worth a visit. They also have proper Indian main course like rotis and subzis, but do try at least one of their fusion item.

Chandigarh food, shopping and tourist places

Chandigarh Food
Exploring Chandigarh food, shopping places and a lot of other things to do in this post.

I tried a few famous Chandigarh food dhabas, shopped at local markets and basically spent a day around city beautiful! Watch everything in my video from Chandigarh.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel here

Here are all the places I visited on my first day in Chandigarh.

Sindhi Sweets

Chandigarh Food

Located in the sector 17 market, this place is famous for chaat and its delicious sabzis. I recommend trying the Dahi Golgappa and their special Meal – a set thali. Sindhi Sweets is a place popular among locals, so it is a little busy. But definitely come here and try out their food. You can even try out their sweet dish items which is what you’ll see as soon as you enter their store.

Sector 17 Market

Love cheap shopping? Then sector 17 market should be fun! It’s honestly not all cheap shopping – there are shops selling the prettiest phulkari dupattas, but you do need to bargain well for them. And so many street side vendors selling jewellery, bags, shoes, tshirts and so much more. You can even just grab a softy and chill here – the vibe in the evening is pretty cool.

Indian Coffee House

This is one of the oldest cafe chains in India. You’ll find an Indian Coffee House in so many Indian cities. No nonsense place serving coffee and snacks. Definitely try their cold coffee on a hot afternoon.

Zakir Hussain Rose Garden

Chandigarh Food

Such an instagrammable spot! Just about 10 minutes by rickshaw from Sector 17 is the Zakir Hussain Rose Garden, in sector 16. Come here for the pretty roses, in different colors and also for all the greenery.

Pal Dhaba

Chandigarh Food

A must visit when in Chandigarh! Pal Dhaba is a place famous for its non-veg food – butter chicken, mutton and more but you do get a good Paneer Butter Masala here. Definitely try if you are vegetarian. And their dal makhani is awesome!

Mama Kane Dadar | Over 100 years of Maharashtrian snacks

Mama Kane Dadar
Mama Kane in Dadar is an institution, when it comes to Maharashtrian food.

It’s been over a century since Mama Kane has been serving delicious snacks. So I went ahead and filmed all of it for you.

Watch my experience at the legendary Mama Kane in Dadar. Click on the video link below.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel here

I think Mama Kane serves some of the best Maharashtrian snacks you can find in Mumbai. I highly recommend trying out their Batata Wada, Kothimbir Wadi, Misal and Puri Bhaji, to name a few. They even have a complete Maharashtrian thali which consists of varan bhaat, aloo sabji and chapati, among other things. The place is simple, no frills, no non-sense and no gimmicks for sure!

Since it is in Dadar, which is one of the busiest areas in Mumbai, Mama Kane does get quite crowded. And let me tell you that in case you have to wait your turn for a table, it will be absolutely worth it! Definitely head to Mama Kane and indulge in their mouth watering dishes. And do let me know about your experience in the comments.

Apart from Mama Kane, the Dadar – Shivaji Park area in Mumbai has a bunch of restaurants dishing out Maharashtrian cuisine. Check out this video to know more.

And here is an exclusive video about Aaswad, another restaurant in Dadar known for it’s authentic Maharashtrian food. I personally love the Thalipeeth here. Watch this video to know more.

Friends Union Joshi Club – Gujarati Thali

Over 100 year old Friends Union Joshi Club in Mumbai is a place to visit for a simple Gujarati thali meal.

Here’s a video from my visit to Friends Union Joshi Club in Kalbadevi, Mumbai

Subscribe to my Youtube channel here

Friends Union Joshi Club is located in Kalbadevi, Mumbai. They are known to serve Gujarati thalis for many years now. And in fact started this place by serving simple homestyle Gujarati meals. Over the years, the variety has definitely increase and so has the price. However, if you are looking for an affordable Gujarati thali experience, particularly one with absolutely no frills then this is the place.

The Gujarati thali at Friends Union Joshi Club has everything – dal, rice, kadhi, rotis, sabzis and more. And these are very simple dishes which can be consumed on a working day; i.e. not heavy creamy gravies. The staff is friendly and the ambience has a humble community dining hall feel. They are known to serve fresh food everyday and if you are in the area and looking for a budget thali meal then this one is definitely worth a try.

Best Butter Paneer in Delhi – Vegetarian Indian Food

Butter Paneer
Butter Paneer – soft paneer cubes in a buttery, tangy gravy.

My love for Butter Paneer has just grown in the past few years. It’s a dish that I very comfortably order at many places; however, there are a few that serve it beautifully well.

These 2 restaurants in Delhi serve the best Butter paneer I’ve had! Watch this video to know more.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel here

butter paneer

I’ll talk about Gulati’s first. The paneer here is delicious – tasty gravy, soft paneer cubes. And I particularly feel that their rotis are really good too. Located in Pandara road in Delhi, Gulati’s is a restaurant specialising in Indian food. And is pretty well known among locals! They are known for their Butter Chicken, however being a vegetarian I can totally vouch for their food as well. They are pretty popular so they do get a lot of crowd, so my suggestion is that be prepared for a little bit of waiting.

Butter Paneer

Next is Moti Mahal. This is the original Moti Mahal in old Delhi. This is located in Daryaganj and is known as the birth place of Butter Chicken. Their butter chicken is very well known even today. So I thought of trying their butter paneer. Pretty tasty as well. Don’t expect too much of an ambience here; go here simply for the taste of it.

I would love to know more places for delicious Paneer dishes from you. So do leave that in the comments below.

Spice Klub Restaurant – Modern Indian Food

Spice Klub Restaurant
Spice Klub restaurant is one of the few places that serves delicious, vegetarian Modern Indian Cuisine.

I’ve loved food at Spice Klub restaurant right since they started. And this time, I got to capture it in a video. Watch the video below.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel here

Fusion food – mixing flavors, textures, ingredients and even cuisines sometimes, is something that I’m not really fascinated with. However, I do love the way Spice Klub does it. Firstly their food itself is tasty – be it chutneys, ingredients, recipes, they get their taste right. Secondly, they don’t overdo the mixing – like everything isn’t mixed or topped with cheese! Also the original flavor of the dish, as it’s supposed to be, can still be felt. So these are reasons why I love Spice Klub restaurant. They do have outlets in Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune and Dubai.

Spice Klub restaurant also lays a lot of emphasis on presentation – whether it’s their display of chutneys, pickles, or the way the present each dish. They definitely achieve their goal of making the food look extremely appetizing.

A lot of places in Mumbai attempt to serve Modern Indian food, and I have’t taken a liking to many of those. Simple reason being that they put way too much emphasis on the presentation, and not so much on the taste itself. Spice Klub gets both correct.

If you are keen to experiment with Indian cuisine and want to try something different, then head to Spice Klub restaurant. I would say that in terms of price, they are on the higher side. However, their taste and even quantity makes up for it.
