Jay Sandwich

Bandra Street Food

This is so popular among all the college crowd from Nationals and MMK and also among people who have been living in this area for ages. The sandwich here is perfection – the chutney is simply delicious. They do have a lot of varieties but if its your first time I would recommend trying the humble veg toast – this is the typical Mumbai style sandwich.

National Juice Center

After the sandwich a ritual that I follow is indulging in sugarcane juice from National Juice Center. This is a rather inexpensive way of refreshing yourself and honestly feels great in any weather.

Quality Frankie

This is another old and famous Bandra street food place. And its actually a shop that sells a lot of farsan and snacks but also has a frankie section. They have both veg and non veg and I particularly like their Veg Frankie which has a spiced potato and onion stuffing.

Yummies

Bandra Street Food

One of my favorite places for Desi Chinese is Yummies near Rizvi College, Carter Road. They sell a lot of other snacks but their Chinese is a total win. Especially the schezwan sauce that they serve is one of the best I’ve ever had. You will keep asking for extra!

Lassi Te Parrontthe

Bandra Street Food

Best parathas in Mumbai! This place serves delicious Parathas and they are made with good ingredients, including Mustard oil and ghee. And they have so many combinations. I love the aloo paratha and the aloo methi as well. Don’t miss the Kulhad dahi that comes along with the paratha.

Elco

The most expensive pani puri you can have! There are mixed opinions about this place but I think you can try it. The pani puri is pretty good and it is up on the charts for hygiene.

Paagal Paan Bhandar

End your Bandra Street food trail with Paagal Paan. I love the meetha paan from here.

Bombay Biryani – A vegetarian’s guide!

Bombay Biryani
Bombay Biryani is located in Hill Road, Bandra. If you know Jimme’s Kitchen then it’s right next to it. It’s a pretty new restaurant serving kebabs, biryani and various other items. Being a vegetarian I was slightly apprehensive to visit this place but it was a pretty good experience.

So here is my guide – a vegetarians’ guide on what you should be eating at Bombay Biryani!

Hara Bhara Kebabs

Bombay Biryani

These are fried to perfection – the right kind of crispy and crunchy; not even slightly overdone in any way. I did feel that they went chewy after a while, but that could be because of the longish photo session we had with them! These are served with a coriander chutney on the side which is super tasty. And it also comes with some salad. These Hara Bhara Kebabs topped with some cheese is just what you need to start off an awesome meal at Bombay Biryani!

Bombay Biryani

Cheese Schezwan Naan

unadjustednonraw_thumb_1fdd

This dish here is absolutely recommended. Naan filled with cheese and schezwan sauce. It doesn’t get more Indo-Chinese than this! It does taste pretty delicious. The warm naan, melting cheese and spicy schezwan. Combination alert!!

Paneer Biryani

unadjustednonraw_thumb_1fe2

Almost feels like paneer tikka and fragrant rice. The Biryani doesn’t feel dry at all. In fact the masala is spread out fairly well. The paneer chunks are soft. Overall quite nice!

Subz Dum Biryani

Bombay Biryani

Loads of vegetables – carrots, french beans and more in a spicy masala. It does have a super strong garlic after taste but honestly, I quite enjoyed it.

Both the biryanis were serves with raita that had some jeera powder and some garlic. First time for me trying out raita with garlic – but pretty good.

Mumbaiya Santra

Bombay Biryani

This tangy orange drink had a taste of pure santra meets jaljeera. If you enjoye these kind of flavors ask for this one.

Salted Caramel Phirni

Bombay Biryani

I’m honestly not the biggest fan of Phirni but this one seemed pretty nice and creamy. And the Salted Caramel was definitely that nice alternate flavor that enhance a sweet dish. Do try this.

Overall their food is slightly spicy, at least for me. So you can either enjoy it as is, or ask for slightly lower spiced dishes. All in all, I quite enjoyed my food from Bombay Biryani.

Bombay Biryani can be a good home delivery option. Hit them up to check if they deliver in your area.

Rating – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

If you know me, then you know how much I love cupcakes! Keep reading to know if this place fulfilled my cravings or not.

I’ll just be honest – cupcakes are my weakness. I’ve tried so many different places and had so many ‘Oh Yeah’s’ and also quite a few Oh God No’s! This place is definitely an Oh yeah!

Have tried their Oreo, Red Velvet, cookies and cream and so many different versions of chocolate – and all have been great. They do their dark chocolate one really well.

The cake is fresh..Not too dry..neither too moist. The icing is delish. I quite like their mini cupcakes – literally pop in the mouth.
They also have pastries, macaroons and a lot of other things – but I’ve only tried their cupcakes. Recommend this place to quench your cupcake cravings.

Theobroma, Linking Road, Bandra

Theobroma

Theobroma Review

Rating – ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

A place synonymous with great brownies, that’s how so many people place Theos. I love most of the desserts here. Keep reading if you want to know which one’s are my favorite.

Theobroma
Brownies

I love theos! And this is going to be a pure rave about a dessert called After 9 – a chocolate and mint pastry at theos. It is exactly as per the description – inspired by the delicious after 8 chocolate. The pastry is absolutely yummy. If you love mint flavored chocolates and / or after 8 then you will simply love this pastry. The top almost feels like the after 8 strips and the cake part is yummy too. And the white center icing part which is on top is also fresh and kinda minty. Probably is my new favorite dessert. Highly highly recommend this.

Candies has been around for so long..The feel, the taste remains unchanged even after so many years. If you’re looking for a great place to chill, in Bandra and also something that’s not really pricey then come to Candies. But there’s a rule – you need to come early, whether it’s for lunch or dinner else most of their stuff is finished.

I recently parcelled some stuff from here and ate it at home. I had their samsosas – 2 types. One was a mini samosa and the other was a Punjabi samosa. The mini samosa was quite yummy

Then I tried the veg rolls – one had a mix veg filling and the other had a corn and spinach filling. Both of these were very ok – the outer covering was way too thick for my liking.
