I happened to visit True Tramm Trunk during their Oktoberfest and tasted a lot of their beer cocktails. I’m sure these are going to be available even now.
Beer bomb (Jagger meister with beer)

True Tramm Trunk

Coronarita (upside down Corona in a margherita)

True Tramm Trunk

Michelada (the beer version of bloody Mary)

Cuber ( beer with that fresh Cucumber flavor) which also has Cucumber pieces in it!

True Tramm Trunk

I also tried some Apple Cider Beer which was pretty interesting.

True Tramm Trunk

And with these you can have some sliders, which are really interesting – the buns are colored and one of the vegetarian ones was green! These come with fries on the side.

True Tramm Trunk

Mushroom and tofu slider

True Tramm Trunk

Spinach and corn slider

True Tramm Trunk

I also tried a portion of their Paprika Fries which were filled with spices..it’s difficult to stop eating these.

True Tramm Trunk

And of course you have your regular beer pints where their options are massive. Or even a tap of beer!

This place serves actual desi daru! Check it out!

True Tramm Trunk

Every Indian state has a particular alcoholic beverage that is pretty local there and True Tramm Trunk has managed to recreate the flavor. And even the packaging – doesn’t it look super authentic! These bottles may look all colorful but are super duper strong!

True Tramm Trunk

I absolutely loved santra – the tangy orange flavor with vodka.

True Tramm Trunk

So if you need a place to chill, drink, dance then True Tramm Trunk is your spot.

Fresh fruit cocktail jars
I haven’t seen these anywhere yet. But great concept. Fresh fruit and some alcohol together. The flavors are nice and refreshing and yet you don’t miss out on the kick! I tried the Cucumber + gin and the Melon + vodka. Melon and vodka was super duper tangy and fruity while Cucumber and gin was refreshing yet not overpowering. I loved both!

Blue frog
5 white spirits in one. This is one mean cocktail and can get you buzzing quite quick!

Curry Spiced Indian potatoes
Potato chunks deep fried, loads of masala and some curry leaves for tempering and flavor. Slightly spicy but oh so delicious! I couldn’t stop eating these.

Mexican nachos
I normally like to have nachos pretty plain – just cheese, salsa and chips. But for a change in quite liked the whole shabam going on with the Mexican nachos here. It had corn, tomatoes, capsicum, cheese and some mayo. Pretty tasty.

Pizza fries
French fries and pizza – stuff cannot get better than this! French fries that are flavored with some pizza sauce, olives and lots of cheese. Try these for sure.

Aloo dum biryani
Amazingly yummy..comes in a jar and the Raita is served very interestingly too. Extremely tasty. The masalas aren’t overpowering at all.

Kahlua, brownie and ice cream
This dessert was literally like the cherry on top of all the amazing food I ate. The combination speaks for itself. You have to try this.

Masalabar, Carter Road

Masalabar – Review

Rating – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and half!

Fancy schmancy chill place – that’s Masalabar. Keep reading to know my experience here!

Carter road. Early evening. Sunset. Cocktails. Experimental food. You get the picture! My experience at Masalabar was pretty damn good.
Special mention for Chef Vilas and all the other staff – very friendly and helpful.
Recommend:

I started with a dish made of kabuli chana – it was crunchy and soft at the same time. Tempered with a whole lot of tasty masalas and curry leaves. It had loads of cruncy pine nuts that took this dish to another level. Served with some radish, kale leaves and chopped onion on top.
Next I had the charcoal pav bhaji. When I saw this dish, I definitely didn’t think that I would even remotely enjoy it. Basically they’ve used edible charcoal which gives it a deep grey color. I didn’t find it did much for the flavor. The bhaji was actually quite delicious..perfect flavor..perfect butter..awesome taste. But – special mention for their pavs..beautifully soft and fresh.
Next I had their barbecue Kathal Burger – I know right..Kathal..i.e. Jack fruit! I absolutely do not like jack fruit and only really tried this burger when the chef insisted. For Kathal, it was actually pretty tasty. The Kathal had a whole lot of spices, chaat masala and the barbecue sauce flavor was really good. But psychologically I couldn’t get myself to eat too much of Jack fruit! Again – special mention for their burger bun..soft and how! Ohh..And the chips that came with this were the real bomb. Amazing homestyle potato chips – thick and crunchy. Loved them and could totally eat a bowl of just those!

Then I tried their Tortilla chaat – basically Tortilla Papdis, mint mayo, sweet potatoes, imli chutney, pomegranate and sev..topped with some kale leaves. I absolutely loved this..it was a complete khatta meetha flavor and the Tortillas felt really different and nice.
Then I tried the litti chokha balls. These were topped with some brinjal pulp on top. I didn’t really care much about these.

I tried 3 different cocktails. All of their cocktails have some attachment to a popular area in Mumbai. The first was based on Chowpatty and was a coconut based cocktail with a very strong flavor of curry leaves. Honestly I don’t like coconut flavor too much..So this one was ok. The presentation was top notch – it came in something that looked like a vase…And was seated in a cage. Along with some chana jor garam for chakhna.

Next I tried the Malabar Hill drink. This had a whole lot of chamomile and thyme infused with vodka. This was very very refreshing. Totally recommend.

And lastly there was a whiskey based cocktail. This was called sunset at carters and it was a beautiful pale yellow kind of color. Whiskey, rosemary and orange made for a great combination. I’m not really fond of whiskey but this one was really good. A bit strong though.

For dessert I had a weird huge tree placed on my table with some Baileys , chocolate and rabdi lollipops growing on it! I love chocolate and I love Baileys. But I don’t like rabdi so much. So honestly I didn’t care much about this.

Overall I had a great time. This place too is an experience, like most of other Jiggs Kalra places.

Hoppipola Review

Sharing my experience at Hoppipola with you. Keep reading 🙂

I have never been to a Hoppipola prior to this and for a first time, my experience was pretty good actually. I was invited to check out this place and sample some food and drinks. The place is quite huge and I quite like the way they’ve done it up. Huge windows, sunlight coming in and for a change not too dark. They even have an outdoor seating which would be great in the evenings. And they also have some board games, so if you like that then you will like this place.

Coming to the drinks – I started with some cranberry juice. Just simple canned juice and nothing special.

Then I tried some cocktails. I had heard so much about their presentation and they actually are pretty cool! First I tried something called Auckland Ice Freeze – this was essentially a kiwi flavored cocktail with loads of malibu. This came in a watering can kind of thing and was pretty huge. It was freezing cold with dry ice and made for a pretty good sight! This felt very refreshing. And malibu feels quite light. And plus I love kiwi so I quite liked it.

Next I tried the Drown in a bucket – this was a lot of tequila and apparently Peach and orange juice too. But the tequila was really overpowering! And so was the rosemary. The rosemary leaves were burnt slightly and that gave a very peculiar flavor. Nothing like I’ve tried ever before!

Coming to the food – I tried a lot of starters. First I had the Harrissan Paneer. This was so neatly presented! It came on this literally small khatiya which I found very cool. This had a mildly spicy kind of sauce going on.

Next I tried the Cheesy Chilitato. These were French fries and a whole lot of cheese – no rephrasing..French fries covered in cheese! Honestly I’ve had better cheesy fries so I didn’t care about these so much.

I also tried some of their Arrabiata penne. This had really little sauce going on – more dry kind of pasta. And had a few veggies too – peppers and olives. I didn’t quite care for this too much.
