Epigamia Yogurt

Hey guys. Welcome to another blog post. This is Shweta from SugarSpiceNice and today I’m telling you about my current favorite dessert replacement – Epigamia Yogurt.

I love dessert – I mean I can eat it after a meal, even before, or even as a meal! So you know exactly how unhealthy I have been. So i tried to switch things up a little and decided to try some yogurt on an afternoon when I was craving some strawberry ice cream. And so Epigamia Yogurt happened to me.

This is Greek Yogurt – in simple terms, it’s yogurt that has been strained to remove it’s liquid so that what is leftover is the creamy stuff. That’s how it differs even with regular flavored or fruit based yogurt. Internationally, moving to Greek Yogurt is quite a thing now – that’s because it claims to have more protein and less carbs than regular yogurt. Epigamia Yogurt is one of the only few greek yogurt brands available in India at the moment.

It does contain permitted natural color and permitted added flavors. But it is free from preservative and artificial flavors.

The verdict

I tried all the flavors from the Epigamia Yogurt range and found all of them, even the plain one to be really rich and creamy. The yogurt also somehow feels slightly lighter than regular yogurt and personally for me actually does better than any other flavored yogurt. The fruit flavored ones are really delicious – you can expect the entire taste of the fruit bursting in your mouth, with the actual tang and zing actually associated with the fruit. And they don’t feel overly sweet like ice cream does sometimes.

Final word

Yes, Epigamia Yogurt is more expensive than other flavored or plain yogurt available in the market, but it is a tastier and healthier option. Also, if like me you are trying to use this to replace dessert cravings, then it does work out cheaper as well. The one flavor that you absolutely must try is Mulberry – it’s absolutely delicious.

Cafe Gratitude Video – Experience in Los Angeles

Hello! If you’ve been following me on my Instagram, you would know that I was in Los Angeles recently. While there, I visited this place called Cafe Gratitude. This is a vegan cafe that serves healthy and delicious food and a whole lot of good vibes! My Cafe Gratitude Video explains this entire place.

I’ve tried to capture my entire experience in my Cafe Gratitude Video. It’s a place that makes you feel good, positive and uplifted. And they don’t try too hard to do that; it’s just an underlying vibe. Check out this Cafe Gratitude Video

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here. It is a beautiful place – almost perfectly Instagram friendly. And the food is pretty good too. If you are vegetarian or vegan then you will like this place.

Goila Butter Chicken Review

When I first heard about Goila Butter Chicken, I was like would they have anything at all for me? I’m a vegetarian and honestly a bit apprehensive of trying out places that have a meal option in their name itself! But, I conquered all my fears and tried out Goila Butter Chicken.

If you are in and around Andheri West, then Goila Butter Chicken is a great delivery option for you. It not only serves great non vegetarian stuff, but their vegetarian dished too are pretty awesome. I’ve listed below my favorites from Goila Butter Chicken. Do try them out.

Goila Butter Masala

This is the Goila Butter Chicken version of Paneer Butter Masala. The gravy is brilliant – not too creamy, not too thin. And it has a hint of that charcoal, smoky flavor going on, which to be honest I quite love. Paneer chunks are soft and generously spread.

Wheat Roomali

If like me you are bored of regular roti or naans, go for this wheat roomali. It goes excellently well with the Goila Butter Masala.

Aloo and Bhindi Kadhi

If it’s a welll cooked, subtle flavored kadhi, I will love it. And this one is no exception. Amazing homestyle besan and dahi kadhi with potato pieces and bhindi in it. Being a Sindhi, I quite love these kind of veggies in my kadhi. This is extremely homestyle – so if you want something mild, yet soothing have this with some jeera rice from Goila Butter Chicken.

Beetroot Tikki Chaat

Beetroot tikkis and ragda with dahi and chutneys – both coriander and imli. And topped with some potato salli. Can’t go wrong with this. Order this for a fun addition to your meal. It is indeed delicious.

And lastly you can finish off with some Mango Rasgullas, like I did!

Wow Bake and Grill, Lower Parel

Can there ever be an excess of cheese? No right! WOW Bake and Grill in Lower Parel can give you loads of yummy cheesilicious stuff from their menu.

I recently tried some stuff from WOW Bake and Grill and absolutely loved it. It’s a great option for delivering to your doorstep if you are in this area.

All that I tried from WOW Bake and Grill is listed below:

Red White Fusion Pasta

Spicy, cheesy pasta. LOADS of cheese and a good, albeit creamy mix of red and white sauce.

Cheesy Garlic Bread

WOW Bake and Grill is so generous with their cheese! It’s a lot of cheese on warm garlic bread. Cannot go wrong with this one.

Peri Peri Fries

Spicy AF! But it’s impossible to stop eating these. Because my food was home delivered, I had to try to reheat these and once I did, they were as good as new.

Tandoori Paneer Burger

This is something which I didn’t enjoy too much. It was a try on item – which means it’s not yet on their menu. But somehow the sour kind of taste and paneer didn’t work for me. However, the fries that came with it were spot on!

Peninsula Grand – Is this really GRAND?

I recently visited Peninsula Grand and I couldn’t help but compare it to all of the other Peninsulas’ I’ve visited, all across Mumbai. For those of you who are not aware, Grand Peninsula is a restaurant located in a 4 star hotel of the same name. And the same group also has restaurants of various price ranges in Sion, Mumbai as well. But this particular one, compared to all of the others did appear a lot more fancy.

The Peninsula Grand is a beautifully done place. Pastel shades, a lot of white and huge windows make it seem very open. And they offer a huge variety of food – North Indian, Chinese and so much more. They also have a full bar available. It is a place that you can visit with your entire family and have a great time.

Le15 Cafe, Colaba

Sometimes a cup of coffee with friends is all that you need to unwind. And if the ambience is adding some calm, nothing like it! I recently visited the Le15 Cafe in Colaba to hangout with friends over some coffee.

I’ve visited Le15 Patisserie in Bandra and Lower Parel and there have been times when I’ve quite enjoyed their cupcakes and macaroons. Also the whole quaint and easy feel that the Bandra one has going on is really nice. And one thing that has been common across all outlets has been that they are quite small – in fact the Lower Parel one is a mere takeaway kinds. So I was pleasantly surprised to see how huge this one in Colaba is – spacious and beautifully done. It does kind of take the whole experience to a different level.

Also the Le15 Cafe has a little bit of food variety as well. I didn’t end up trying any of that because I was clear that I just needed coffee. In fact we even ended up skipping any dessert altogether.

I ordered for their Cappuccino and topped it up with some Caramel sauce. The coffee was fairly strong and the Caramel made it sweeter too – just as I like it. I also ended up trying som Hot Chocolate. This was topped with an over generous amount of whipped cream. It actually was a bit too much so we had to get some more hot chocolate added.

All in all, the Le15 Cafe is a beautiful place to hang out. Their staff is helpful and service is quick. If you ever want to grab a bite, and dessert, and coffee and want a pretty place to look at, then you know you can come here.

The American Joint, BKC

The Capital building in BKC is buzzing with places and I happened to pass this area during lunch hour and boy was it packed! Luckily, I didn’t have to go through the effort of deciding what to eat as I was headed to The American Joint for lunch.

The American Joint is located on the first floor of the swanky Capital building and the minute you get off the escalator it’s right in from of you. Because they knew I was coming in for lunch, I had a reserved table. Otherwise the place was pretty full. They have a semi open kitchen and a fair bit of sitting place. During busy hours finding sitting place can be a bit tricky.

The most important thing about The American Joint however is the fact that the raw material they use to prepare their food is all ORGANIC. It’s personally handpicked, selected and used in a way to keep the nutritive value of the dish fairly high. So your not just eating tasty here, but also relatively healthy. And it is kinda ironic, since American food and healthy don’t always go hand in hand.

I tried quite a few things, but my favorites have to be:

The Tomato and Basil Soup

Homestyle, light tomato soup flavored with some basil. Really soothing.

Hummus to You

Warm toasted pita with Hummus that was perfection. You have to try this.

The Indian Spaghetti

Homestyle, spicy arrabiata – topped with some Indian spices and mayo. Extremely delicious.

San Francisco Garlic Fries

Love heavy garlic flavour? Then you will absolutely love these. And they come with a heavy sprinkle of Parmesan cheese on top.

Fererro Nutella Mousse

This by no means feels anything like mousse. It is in face super thick, dense and rich. Layers of nutella and chocolate with a super strong flavour.

These are my top picks at The American Joint. It’s a great place to try out American food that is healthy and tasty and has an Indian twist going on. That feeling when you’ve eaten, wait – overeaten way too much and you are so stuffed and so full that you can’t move, can’t think, can’t talk. Basically can do nothing. That is Food Coma and that is exactly what I experienced when I visited this place one afternoon for lunch.

On a weekday afternoon, I was headed to BKC to try out some food from The American Joint and OMG – everything i ate was delicious. Everything had a really nice Indian kinda flavor going on. My favorites from their menu are the Hummus with warm Pita, Indian Spaghetti, San Francisco Fries and their Paneer Melt. Their food is slightly spicy. You can watch everything I ate in this video right here. And yes what i experienced after this was sheer food coma!
