Review – Just Chill 7

Rating – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I went to this place on one of my trips to matunga..and I was so surprised to see so many softy stations. And slush machines. If you’ve been here then maybe you would share this feeling!

I ate the chic choc – a huge Sunday. It was a huge canopy made with chocolate wafer and had about 3 ice cream flavors – chocolate, butterscotch and vanilla. And was topped with some whipped cream and chocolate chips and chocolate sauce. All of these things made for a super combo. I quite liked it.

I also had a bite of their softy – vanilla with loads of chocolate sauce topped in a waffle cone. And this was pretty good too.

Recommend you to try out these 2 items for sure!

Review – Coffee by Di Bella

Rating – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This month has been loads of Di Bella for me. Went to this particular outlet for some late night dessert cravings.

I had the usual – chocolate waffle. Yummy! Thick dense waffle with loads of chocolate topped. And chocolate ice cream and some fresh cream too. Absolutely recommend this.

On a side note – the staff at this particular outlet – particularly the lady at the counter was like – no taking pictures of anything apart from what you’re ordering. And that was quite appalling simply because any food enthusiast, on and off Zomato does get their fair share of clicks not just of what they eat but also of what the place looks and feels like. So if their staff is going to throw this kind of attitude , it definitely won’t go well with a lot of peeps.

Their waffles are that good that even this incident didn’t affect my ratings.

Review – Delhi Darbar Gastronomy

Rating – ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Delhi Darbar Gastronomy is pretty easy to spot – quite close to the highway. I was recently invited to check out this place and sample the food. So let’s get straight to what I ate.

Recommend:

Mango mania – mocktail

Crispy hara bhara kabab

Paneer makhmali

Tomato mint shorba

Gulab jamun

Dudhi halwa

I started with some tomato and pudina shorba. I’ve not really tried tomato and mint as a combo and this was pretty interesting. Slightly on the spicier side, but this did make for some great soup.

Next I tried the kurkura hara bhara kabab – this was essentially hara bhara kabab fried along with some papad bits – another yummy dish. Taste and texture both were bang on.

This was followed by something called Aloo Nazakat – this was potatoes with some veggies stuffing inside. This was alright.

After that I tried the paneer makhmali – and this was super tasty. Paneer chunks that were marinated and had a really nice filling inside – soft paneer and rich filling. Exceptional.

Moving on to main course – I started with something called Multani paneer darbar – kind of sweet and spicy gravy and some paneer pieces. It had a very achari kind of flavor but I enjoyed this.

I also tried something called darbari subzi Kofta – this was mixes veggies Kofta in a sort of spicy gravy. It was alright.

I ate both the subzis with some garlic naan and it was so yummy – perfect seasoning of garlic and sesame seeds.

I also tried their vegetarian dum biryani. This came covered with the roti and was quite decent. It was served with some vegetable Raita which was also quite nice and not sour or anything.

I tried 2 mocktails as well – shirley temple which was a almost raspberry – strawberry flavored drink and the Mango mania. Mango mania was a combination of Mango and mint and it was really nice.

For dessert I tried their mini gulab jamun, dudhi halwa and some Mango mousse kinda item. Gulab jamun was perfect size and so yummy. Dudhi halwa was perfection too – topped with loads of pistachios and barely greasy. The Mango mouse, known as Mango fool was alright. Nothing great.

Review – California Pizza Kitchen

Some how California Pizza Kitchen doesn’t do it for me. Been here multiple times and have had that meh feeling on all those times.

Jumping into what I ate – I opted for their set meal lunch menu which was for around 700 bucks and had a non alcoholic beverage, a starter, a pizza or a pasta and a dessert. Best part about this was that I could share it with another person.

For starter, I tried their fried Mac and cheese. This was as the name suggests, Mac and cheese in a crispy outer covering. First time trying this out and it was pretty decent.

I opted for their pizza and tried the thin crust kasundi paneer pizza. This thin crust almost felt like skinny crust – uber thin for my liking. And the pizza was covered end to end with paneer, tomatoes, peppers and lots of other veggies in an Indian sauce. The taste wasn’t all that great – I mean an Indian pizza needs to be all kinds of tasty and chatpata but this one lacked that zing.

For dessert I had their chocolate trinity – and it was super! Loads of dark chocolate and chocolate mousse together..it was dense and really heavy duty. Only glitch was the cocoa powder on top seemed a bit too flaky. Otherwise this is top notch!

I also had their ice tea and that was alright.

Zees Pizza, Lower Parel

Review – Zees Pizza

Rating – ⭐⭐⭐⭐ and half

I recently ordered from Zees Pizza after seeing it on Zomato. This was traditional call and deliver and not via app.

I tried their vegetarian pan pizza and the vegetarian calzone. The pizza is exceptional – 5 veggie toppings for 99 bucks! And you have an opinion of either marinara or tandoori sauce. The pizza doesn’t feel like an effort to chew, sauce is super tasty.

Coming to the calzone – AweFreakinSome! I’m not exaggerating here at all. Yummy paneer filling in a mayo kinda sauce and probably some other things too. Very very good. I’m not too fond of calzone but this was super. And was actually recommended to me by the person taking my order!

Recommend this place 🙂 I can’t wait to try more of their stuff!

Review – Belstone

I recently ordered from Belstone via Zomato delivery. I was craving Veg Triple and saw the email guys delivering so I decided to give it a go.

This is probably the most colored veg triple i have seen – the rice was all kinds of orange..ranging from dull to bright. It didn’t even taste that good! The gravy was pathetic – crazy crazy spicy (i mentioned less spicy) and so much color in that too. The fried noodles that were barely there were soggy and how!

Don’t recommend this place at all.

Review – Kalpana Restaurant & Bar

Rating – ⭐⭐⭐ and half

One evening I felt like having schezwan noodles and so I ordered them from here. Just simple schezwan noodles and no gravy.

I called them and they delivered pretty quickly. The noodles came piping hot. Quantity was superb for the price – I think they were for approx 160 bucks.

The noodles were nice – had a little bit of onion, capsicum and Cabbage in them. And not overly oily. Even the flavor was perfect and they weren’t crazy spicy either.

Will definitely be trying more stuff from here pretty soon.

Review – Go Panda

I was recently invited to check out this place. To be honest Go Panda has been on my wishlist for a while and also recommended to me by so many fellow foodies. I was so happy with everything I ate here and cannot wait to be back for another meal!

Recommend:
Paneer Sloppy Joe
Asian Noodles Croquet

I started with the Paneer Sloppy Joe. When I read the description of the sloppy Joe, it mentioned that it was a sandwich and I was like – a Chinese sandwich?!! But when I took the first bite I shut up for good! Yummy paneer with probably the best kind of Chinese seasoning and loads of cheese in a sandwich. And it’s served with some fries on the side. Truly one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten.

Then I tried the Burmese Khao Suey. Really tasty – the noodles were just the right amount of crunchy and great coconut flavor.

After that I tried something called the Singaporean Baida Roti with some paneer stuffing in it. Exceptional is an understatement. This paneer stuffing was slightly different than the sloppy Joe one but yet so tasty. It is served with a Malaysian sauce / dip on the side.

And then I tried the Asian noodles croquet – similar stuffing like a spring roll but with some cheese. And the outer part is nice and crispy. It is served with some sweet chilli sauce. Absolutely loved this.

So tasty and affordable Chinese food has an all new meaning and definitely a destination for me.

Review – Mighty Small Cafe

Zomato peeps were really sweet to give me a voucher for this place. Mighty Small is in between all of the madness at Smashh. This place has a carnival theme to it which I think describes my previous statement! Bright colors, lots of light and awesome music.

Recommend:
Disco idli
Flame Grilled Paneer
Paneer butter masala meal
Paneer biryani meal
Amazing music!

Don’t recommend strongly – the cupcakes!

I read a lot about the disco idli here and so I tried it out. It was mini idlis tossed in ghee, curry leaves, some peppers and some mustard seeds. A very heavy ghee feel to it, but they were pretty decent. Slightly spicy though.

Then I tried the Flame Grilled Paneer – soft paneer pieces with capsicum and the Indian onion salad. The presentation for this dish is pretty interesting.

Then I tried the butter paneer and butter naan meal – the gravy was pretty tasty – not overly creamy and just the right amount of tangy.

I also tried their amritsari chole and kulcha – the chole I didn’t care much about but the kulcha was great.

I also tried their cupcakes – none of them is worth talking about! They were dry and didn’t feel very fresh.

Then I tried the paneer makhani biryani – first impression for this was that the paneer butter masala has been used to make this ? but actually it’s paneer was a bit different. Overall this felt more like a heavier pulao and not so much biryani. It came with all the taam jhaam of having the roti covering for added flavor. It was served with some raita and papad.

Review – Pizza Express

Pizza express is slowly turning out to be my go to place for pizza. They do it well and they do it fresh.

I am a plain margherita pizza kinda person. And pizza express does that brilliantly. The pizza is perfectly textured in between crispy and a tad bit soft. Their pizza sauce is exceptionally tasty.
