PAV-O-LICIOUS Review

PAVOLICIOUS
Craving some deliciously stuffed Pavs? Try PAVOLICIOUS!

PAVOLICIOUS offers vegetarian and non-vegetarian fillings inside Pav – a traditional Indian bun. They offer just this, and in my opinion do a really good job.

If you’re vegetarian, then here’s what you should try from PAVOLICIOUS.

Paneer Tikka Pav

PAVOLICIOUS

A deliciously marinated paneer tikka, inside a fresh, soft Pav. In spite of being a tad bit spicy, I enjoyed this.

PAVOLICIOUS

Aloo Achari Pav

PAVOLICIOUS

The flavor of tandoori aloo and onion in a Pav can be anything but ordinary.

PAVOLICIOUS

Nutella Pav

PAVOLICIOUS

Need I say more! Nutella and soft Pav is such a delightful combination.

PAVOLICIOUS

PAVOLICIOUS is a good option if you are looking for a quick, yet filling meal. Each portion serves about 2 pieces of huge pavs and they are also very generous with their stuffing quantity. The PAV isn’t toasted and this is a good judgement area for the freshness of the Pav. Also I feel toasting it would kill the experience. they currently deliver in and around areas of Worli.

I highly recommend trying out PAVOLICIOUS.

I hope this review was helpful. Stay tuned for my next post.

Food of Connaught Place

Food of Connaught place
While travelling, I had a halt for a few hours in Delhi. I decided to try out the food of Connaught Place in that time.

As I was deciding the places I wanted to visit for my food of Connaught Place trail, I thought of sticking to some old school ones that I wouldn’t go wrong with. Connaught Place is definitely one happening area where there are so many eateries and choosing just 3 was such a task.

The 3 places I visited were Haldiram’s, Gupta Paan and Nirula’s. And I can happily say that all three were a delightful experience.

You can watch a whole video from my visit to all of these places here.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel here

Haldiram’s

I decided to visit Haldiram’s because I love chaat and what better place to eat Dahi Wada and Gol Gappa! I loved how organized this place is – specific counters for payment, and dedicated item based counters as well. The place was packed and how! And while looking around I noticed that people were ordering everything possible – from chaat to Dosa, to Chole.

Haldirams Dahiwada Food of Connaught place

I absolutely enjoyed my Dahi Wada. Topped with the yummiest of masala and chutneys, this is definitely something you should try.

Gupta Paan at Odeon

Gupta Paan at Odeon Food of Connaught place

Want the weirdest paan, shoved down your mouth? Head over here. I however stuck to a basic meetha paan, which was not at all disappointing.

Nirula’s

Pizza Nirulas Food of Connaught place

This is India’s oldest fast food chain and such a successful one. I had to visit! I tried their meal which included paneer makhani, dal makhani, rice and rotis and I tried their Pizza. And as diverse as these things are, both were so delicious. I also tried their very famous hot chocolate fudge, and you only have to try it to know that the hype is totally worth it.

So that was it from my visit to Connaught Place, Delhi. Definitely let me know in the comments below about your most memorable meal on a trip.

Top 5 Nainital Restaurants serving Vegetarian Food

Nainital Restaurants
I recently spent a couple of days in the beautiful hills of Nainital and obviously gorged on some good food too. So here my TOP 5 Nainital Restaurants that serve some good vegetarian food as well.

You can check out a video of my Nainital Food Diary here. It includes all of my recommended Nainital Restaurants as well as some street food that I had there.

Subscribe to my Youtube channel here

If you are a vegetarian, then you should definitely visit Giannis Pure Veg Restaurant in Nainital. This one was one of the first ones I visited while I was there and enjoyed a scrumptious meal here.

Nainital Restaurants Giannis Pure Veg

I started with the Tomato Soup which felt really warm and comforting in the cool weather.

Nainital Restaurants Giannis Pure Veg

What I recommend eating here is their set meal style Thali. It’s quite a decent quantity and could even be shared between 2 people, with probably an addition of extra roti. The Thali comes with naan, rice, dal, two different types of subzi, raita, papad and Gulab Jamun for sweet dish.

Sakley’s – The Mountain Cafe is another place I recommend. This isn’t a pure vegetarian place, but I did find a worthwhile veggie pizza here, albeit homestyle.

Nainital Restaurants Sakleys

And if you are fine eating dessert with egg, then I highly recommend trying out something from their sweet selection. They have a wide range of pastries, eclairs, puffs and more. I tried their Chocolate Truffle and their Chocolate Eclair and both were really fantastic. Fresh and yum!

This place is really cute and cozy and has a very Swiss Cafe vibe to it. You could even come here and enjoy a cup of coffee.

Another pure vegetarian gem in Nainital is Chandni Chowk Restaurant. This one is themed around the original Chandni Chowk in Delhi and serves all kinds of chaat, delicious appetizers and of course piping hot Jalebi.

Nainital Restaurants Chandni chowk

I tried their special Paneer subzi which was quite delicious.

What stood out for me was their Jalebi and Masala Milk. One of the best jalebis I have ever had, these were an absolute indulgence.

If you want a good ‘lunch with a lake view’ then Zooby’s Kitchen totally provides that. This isn’t pure vegetarian, but does serve good vegetarian food. I tried their Aloo Mutter, Biryani and Stuffed Paratha and was honestly quite happy with the food and the service.

And as in this post, this was my last meal in Nainital. I visited Machan on my final day and indulged in some Indian-style Chinese food and loved it. I tried a pretty basic combination of Fried Rice and Manchurian and absolutely enjoyed it. Their portions are huge and probably sufficient for a minimum of 3 people.

So those were a few recommendations of Nainital Restaurants from my visit here. Hope you found this post helpful.

Raju Chinese – Mumbai Street Chinese

Raju chinese
If you’ve studied in H.R. or Jai Hind College, you know the craze for Raju Chinese is real.

Want to know what I ate on my last visit to Raju Chinese? Watch this!

Subscribe to my YouTube here

So that was Raju Chinese. Definitely visit the place if you haven’t already!

And here are my recommendations on what you should be eating here:

Dry Manchurian

Raju chinese

I am not the biggest fan of just dry manchurian, but the ones at Raju Chinese are a sure exception. Amazing flavor and a prominent taste of ginger and garlic. I can just eat these all by themselves!

Schezwan Rice

Raju chinese

Spicy Schezwan Rice served with a little Manchurian Gravy, some schezwan sauce and fried noodles.

Chilli Cheese Roll

Raju chinese

Delicious sauce, warm toasted bread and cheese – all in a roll! Definitely recommend this.

Raju chinese

You could eat anything from their menu, and I guarantee that it will be fresh and tasty. This place has maintained the same level of taste since I first started eating from here in 2004. At that time, Raju Chinese was located inside H.R. College in Churchgate and was also known as H.R. Chinese. My friends and I would specially go over to H.R. just to grab some of this delicious stuff! And the things we had to do to get inside the college (because we weren’t students of H.R.) would all feel worth it, once we had the first bite of some of this stuff. Now the place has moved pretty close to Marine Lines and Nirmala Niketan College. It’s all vegetarian and arguably one of the best street Chinese food in Mumbai.

Raju chinese

I hope you enjoyed reading this post and watching the video. Do visit Raju Chinese and let me know how you liked it.

Rajendra Fast Food Borivali

Rajendra Fast Food
This one’s from my visit to Rajendra Fast Food Borivali.

Rajendra Fast Food Borivali is a really famous, landmark level place to grab some reasonable yet delicious food. Their dosa, Chinese, Sandwich is pretty famous. Here’s a video from a trip that I made to Rajendra Fast Food!

Subscribe to my YouTube here

I hope you enjoyed watching this little snippet from my visit to Rajendra Fast Food.

I ordered only 1 item here – the Mysore Masala Dosa. You saw that being made, right from scratch in the video. They used a ton of beetroot to make it and honestly it turned out pretty good. I wouldn’t call it my most favorite mysore masala, but it was decent.

Rajendra Fast Food

You get a variety of Chindian food here as well – everything ranging from schezwan rice, to hakka noodles to manchurian. And you will see the guy toss it all up right in front of you. I find it really fascinating to this watch stuff getting made.

Rajendra Fast Food

You also have various chaat items here – ranging from Pani Puri to Bhelpuri.

And you also can get Dabeli here. I didn’t end up trying any this time, but hopefully I will try it next time.

And their sandwich counter looked so attractive!

Rajendra Fast Food

I also saw a whole variety of other South Indian items. This includes idli, vadas and umpteen different kind of uttappas and dosas.

Rajendra Fast Food

They have a counter outside, where you can see all the items getting prepared and you just need to get a coupon and place your order. You can stand out and eat or take a seat in their pretty humble seating area.

This place has something for everyone. I recommend checking it out.

Lassi Te Parrontthe – The Best Aloo Paratha in Mumbai

Lassi Te Parrontthe
If you’ve been following me for a while, you would probably already know that my heart skips a beat everytime I think about Lassi Te Parrontthe. It’s one of my most favorite places to eat..like EVER!

Lassi Te Parrontthe

Lassi Te Parrontthe, for those of you who are new, is a a place at Carter Road in Mumbai. You get different varieties of Parathas here – ranging from aloo, to gobi, to methi to paneer and probably few more. The parathas are delicious, to say the least. And what I personally admire is the  dedication with which the owner Nikhil Thakur a.k.a. Parronttha Man from Carters makes these. Watch this video from my visit to Lassi Te Parrontthe and you will know what I’m talking about.

Subscribe to my YouTube here

I hope after watching the video you understand the level of parathas I’m talking about.

The stuffing in these parathas is literally spot on. I’ll tell you about my favorite one here – the aloo and it has a delicious flavor from masalas like dhaniya powder. And the parathas are also cooked to perfection. A lot of times while eating parathas outside I find that there is a spot either towards the extreme sides or where the stuffing is really heavy that feels kinda uncooked. But not with the ones I’ve had at Lassi Te Parrontthe.

Lassi Te Parrontthe

The parathas are served with Dahi that comes in a kulhad which seems pretty fresh and not at all sour. And some pickle too. You also get some chhaas and lassi here.

Lassi Te Parrontthe

When you visit Lassi Te Parrontthe, you will pretty much see the main Parronttha Man getting the parathas ready. And just watching him make them can be so cool.

Lassi Te Parrontthe

Highly recommend this place.

I hope you enjoyed watching and reading about my experience at Lassi Te Parrontthe. Let me know if you visit the place. Would love to know how you liked it.

I would love to stay in touch. So do hit me up on my social media.
